Course: Supply Chain Partner Collaboration

Duration: 2 days; registration at 8:00 AM day one, class begins at 8:30 AM; class ends at 4:00 PM final day.

Overview: This course focuses on the key collaboration and integration points between supply chain partners in planning, executing and optimizing joint activities in the chain. It includes defining standard and custom systems and technologies used between partners, typical barriers that inhibit effective communications, and chain-wide performance measurement tools. 

Who should attend: Supply chain managers, logistics managers, material managers, functional IT representatives

Agenda:

Defining the environment

  • Defining variations in basic and extended supply chains

  • Inbound, outbound and reverse logistics

  • Push vs. pull systems

Partner interaction by area

  • Planning: single facility and chain-wide

  • Product and process design

  • Execution and fulfillment

  • Event management

  • Synchronization and optimization- identifying constraints, setting flow rates and buffer levels

Communications technologies

  • Defining barriers to communications- partner dominance, varying communications methods, other

  • Defining common technologies- RosettaNet, XML, other

  • Collaborative design, forecast, planning, event notification tools

  • Public and private trading exchanges

  • Industry-specific standards and systems 

Performance Measurements

  • SCOR model

  • Industry-specific measurements and requirements

  • Developing and implementing win-win chain-wide performance measurements and reward systems

Each area includes: Typical policy issues, glossary, exercise or quiz.

Fee: $850 US for 2 days; $700 per person when 2 or more attend from same company. Includes materials and handouts, continental breakfast, lunch and coffee service but not dinner, lodging or transportation.
